I have drafted the wireframe below. Initially I was going to structure the content by having the audience choose the direction in which way to go. However in continuing with the journal theme there is a direction from one story to another. These amendments are made with the blue lines.
As you can see, there is an option for users to go straight from the homepage to a map view of the stories which will then give them the option to view the ones they want. Thus, user can experience the story unidirectionally or toggle through in their own way.
